Archer The name Archer in Ireland is derived from an Anglo-Norman family who became completely integrated into Gaelic society forming the Airseir Sept who were one of the famous 'Tribes of Kilkenny'. It is in the Southern counties that the majority of descendants bearing this name can still today be found.
