Buckley The name Buckley in Ireland is derived from the native Gaelic O'Buachalla Sept that was located in County Offaly and where it still also exists as Buhilly and Boughla. This name was also brought to the country by setlers in the seventeenth century, especially into the Province of Ulster. The Gaelic name is taken from a word meaning 'boy' and descendants bearing the name Buckley can now be mostly found in Counties Cork and Tipperary.
