O'Shaughnessy The Irish name O'Shaughnessy is derived from the native Gaelic O'Seachnasaigh Sept who were located in County Galway but who spread into Counties Clare and Limerick. The Sept is said to be descended from Daithi, who was the last Pagan King of Ireland.
