Donnelly The name Donnelly in Ireland is derived from the native Gaelic O'Donnghaile Sept, taken from a Gaelic word meaning 'valour'. The Sept was based in County Donegal originally but migrated to County Tyrone. It is in the Province of Ulster that the majority of descendants can still be found.
