Hennessy The name Hennessy in Ireland is derived from the native Gaelic Sept O'hAonghusa which means 'a descendant of Aonghus'. There were a number of Septs located in Counties Dublin, Cork, Meath and Offaly. The name is now most prevalent in the Province of Munster.
