McAllister The name McAllister in Ireland is taken from the native Gaelic Sept MacAlastair who settled in Scotland only to return to Ulster in the fourteenth century as Gallowglass warriors. It is in Ulster and in County Antrim in particular the majority of descendants can still be found.
